This degraded, low R-Value fiberglass was extracted by the team at Primary Home Improvements in order to create a clean slate for new, dense cellulose to be installed. Extraction is important in cleaning the attic, ridding of moisture buildup in the old material, and getting rid of pest leftovers.
The old fiberglass in this attic was no longer doing a very good job insulating the home. The homeowner noticed her central air kept kicking on more and more over the last few months and wanted to prevent that from occurring in the future. We solved this problem by removing the old insulation, air sealing the attic, and installing TruSoft Cellulose. Air sealing is the process of filling any cracks or holes in the attic in order to keep conditioned air in the home and stop if from escaping. TruSoft Cellulose is a blown in insulation that provides the attic with dense coverage!
RetroFoam injection foam was installed on the exterior walls of this shaker-sided home. RetroFoam has a superior R-Value per inch and does not allow drafts inside of the home. Installers make sure to carefully put the siding back on as it was before. This customer can now enjoy an insulated, comfortable and energy-efficient home!
This customer had old, settled cellulose in their attic. Primary Home Improvements increased the insulating power from R13 to R49 by blowing in fluffy fiberglass all over the attic and knee walls. Fiberglass will help stop unwanted drafts from seeping into this customer's home.
