Walls Insulated with RetroFoam in Sharon Center, OH
Challenge
Homeowner in Sharon Center, OH wanted a viable solution to creating a more comfortable and energy-efficient home. They had a single story, single family home, built in 1992 and they were sure that the wall insulation had settled. They researched local insulation experts near them and found that Primary Home Improvements offered free in-home estimates! Our Customer Care Representative set up the customers with a free estimate to get their home inspected.
On the day of the quote, the energy consultant Bert arrived and began to assess the walls. Using a thermal imaging gun, he was able to see where the home was loosing air. Come to find out, most of the exterior walls were not adequately insulated and was causing drafts to get in. Bert sat with the homeowners and explained that Primary Home Improvements has a no-demo needed solution that will fully insulate the walls! The customer was so excited to get the project done soon.
Solution
On the day of the install, the wall crew arrived and began working to insulate the home. They started by taking a couple rows of vinyl siding off around the home in order to access the wall cavities. The best part of RetroFoam is that it works with any type of siding and is non-invasive, while also providing a superior R-Value per inch. Once a portion of the siding was off, small holes were drilled between studs and RetroFoam was injected into the wall. RetroFoam is a tripolymer resin that comes out like shaving cream, but hardens in the wall after 48 hours. Once installers fill every nook and cranny of the wall, they sealed it with a plug and put the siding back on as before. You couldn't even tell we were there!
The customer was so excited to have this project done in one day and without disturbing his home!
