This homeowner noticed mold spots on the rafters of her attic. Mold can occur in attics for many reasons; poor ventilation, condensation or roof leaks. Before insulating her attic with dense cellulose, Primary Home Improvements used MoldX2 products to eliminate mold. MoldX2 is a highly effective cleaner that removes mold stains in 20 seconds. MoldX2 eliminates mold and the stain, but does not prevent mold from growing back. MoldX2 Botanical was therefore sprayed onto the rafters. The MoldX2 Botanical product is antimicrobial, fungicide and  a deodorizer. Now mold will not grow back on the wood!

Job Stories From Cuyahoga County, OH
Fiberglass Installed Above Sunroom in Middleburg Heights, OH

This homeowner needed a solution to his insulation needs when he found out that the area above his sunroom was totally barren. This left the room as cold or hot as the air outside. The customer wanted to enjoy the space all year round so he called Primary Home Improvements to help him insulate it. He was quickly scheduled with a hassle-free estimate.

Bert, an energy consultant with PHI, went up into the attic space and immediately noticed zero insulation. He sat down with the customer and explained our products and process thoroughly. Once the customer felt comfortable with the decision, Bert wrote up a detailed quote that laid out how the work was to be done.

Technicians climbed into the space with a high-powered blower and made sure to install the fiberglass evenly throughout the area. R-Value is the rate in which insulation can prevent the flow of heat into and out of a home. High R-Value is vital in an attic space because it controls the climate and results in better energy efficiency. This customer drastically went from an R-0 to R-49!!

This customer can now enjoy his sunroom in all 4 seasons!

RetroFoam Insulation Installed in Chagrin Falls, OH

A customer in Chagrin Falls, OH had two rental homes on the same property that desperately needed wall insulation. These houses are known as Century Homes. That means that are at least 100 years old and still in use today. These particular homes were built in 1920! Typically, houses built before 1972 don't have insulation in their walls. That means drafts and outdoor air can increase energy bills and make the home uncomfortable to live in. The customer looked on google for their local, trusted insulation company and found Primary Home Improvements. He quickly got scheduled for a free, in-home estimate.

Bert, the energy consultant, inspected the walls of both homes and sat down with the customer to go over how RetroFoam wall insulation works. Once all of the questions the customer had were answered, Bert gave him an install date to get the project done!

On the day of install, the expert insulation technicians began working. They started by taking pieces of siding off around the houses. Then, they drilled small 2" holes between the studs of the walls. Once the cavity was full of injection foam, the hole was closed off with a wooden plug. The siding was then put back on and it looked like we weren't even there! RetroFoam hardens within the walls and gets rid of drafts while maintaining a high R-Value that will never settle.

The homeowner and the tenants can now enjoy the home and the lower energy costs!

Whole Home Insulation in Beachwood, OH

A customer in Beachwood, OH was looking to upgrade the home's insulation in order to save on energy bills and make it more comfortable. Someone she knew referred her to Primary Home Improvements as a trusted and expert insulation company in the area. She called in and got scheduled for a free, in-home quote.

Bert, the energy consultant, arrived to the homeowner's address and got started with the estimate. Using a thermal gun, he noticed that the exterior walls and attic were not adequately insulated. During the fall and winter seasons when it's colder, a thermal gun shows the walls of the home as the color blue if there is a lack of insulation. Bert sat down with the customer and explained the process and solutions to insulate her entire home.

On the day of the install, the wall and attic crews arrived to insulate the home. The attic crew blew-in premium fiberglass insulation over every inch of the attic. The attic went from an empty, no R-value space to a full, R-30 attic. The more R-Value there is in a home, the more insulating power it has!

The wall crew worked on insulating all exterior walls with RetroFoam. Injection foam is great for insulating the walls of existing homes because there is no demolition needed and it will completely fill up the wall cavities! Installers made sure to put all siding back up perfectly and clean up the work area. You couldn't even tell we were there!

This homeowner can now enjoy energy savings on top of an insulated, comfortable home!

RetroFoam Wall Insulation Installed in Lakewood, OH

A homeowner in Lakewood, OH was looking for solutions to fix a cold home. Her home was built in 1922 and she wasn't sure if there was any insulation in the walls or attic. Houses built before 1950 usually have little to no insulation or it's deteriorated over time. A customer who previously had Primary Home Improvements insulate their home recommended her to our company as a local, trusted insulation contractor. She was quickly scheduled a free, in-home estimate.

The energy consultant arrived to the appointment and began making assessments on the walls and attics. He used a thermal gun and pointed them at the walls of the house. The thermal gun tool showed that the walls didn't have any insulation in them. This would explain the drafts and the unregulated temperatures the customer was experiencing. Next, he climbed up into the attic and determined that there was an insufficient amount of insulation. The solution: RetroFoam for the walls and Tru-Soft Cellulose for the attic.

The wall and attic crew got to work on the day of install and began prepping the home. The wall crew took siding off around the home, drilled holes and prepped the Styrofoam plugs. Then, they went around the two-story home and injected all wall cavities with RetroFoam between the studs. They finished by sealing all holes with the plugs and put the siding back on carefully. While that was happening, the attic crew was blowing in Tru-Soft cellulose in the attic and filling up all sides of the space. Tru-Soft not only is environmentally friendly, but most importantly, delivers a superior R-Value per inch. The densely packed product will help keep the outside air out, for good.

Fiberglass and Aspen Air Purifier to be Installed in Chagrin Falls, OH

A homeowner in Chagrin Falls, OH just bought a century home, built in the year 1851, and needed a solution in fixing their trouble attic. Animals had infested the attic and deteriorated the old cellulose that had been there for an unknown amount of time. The customer's allergies were also flaring up due to the dust and debris in the attic space. They found that Primary Home Improvements was their trusted, family-owned insulation company and got scheduled for a free estimate.

Bert, the energy consultant, arrived for the appointment and began assessing the attic space. He noticed the damage from the animals and also the lack of consistent insulation. Some parts of the area had some cellulose and some sections were completely bare. This makes for a very dysfunctional attic. He recommended that Primary Home Improvements extract and blow in new, high-quality fiberglass and also install an Aspen air purifier.

On the day of the project, installers will make sure that all debris is sucked out and all new fiberglass is blown at a R-49 value, which will regulate the temperatures in this century home. Then, they will find the optimal spot for the Aspen air purifier to be placed inside of the home. The Aspen is a professional-grade purifier that covers 1,500 square feet. This purifier reduces allergies, asthma and other illnesses by removing more than 99.97% of particles down to 0.1 microns. These customers will be able to breathe easier and be more comfortable in their own home.

Knauf Fiberglass Added to Attic in Bedford, OH

A customer in Bedford, OH was looking for a trusted, expert and local insulation company that could insulate the attic of their new build home with quality products. They found Primary Home Improvements to be their local and family-owned business and called in to schedule a free estimate.

Bert, the energy consultant, got up into the empty, new attic and knew right away that it would benefit from fiberglass insulation. Primary Home Improvements uses Knauf Ecofill insulation. This high-quality product is a dense and effective thermal barrier that will never change the intended R-Value over its lifetime.

On the day of install, the attic crew arrived and began to blow in the fiberglass product over every inch of the new space. They made sure that the R-Value was a consistent R-49 to ensure that this attic would properly regulate the home's temperature. Once done, the crew did a final walkthrough and showed the customer videos and pictures taken of the work to make sure it was done to satisfaction. Tru-Soft Cellulose Blown-In on Top of Old Insulation in North Olmsted, OH

A homeowner in North Olmsted, OH was noticing that one bedroom in particular was not heating or cooling correctly. They realized that this bedroom was right below an attic and they wanted it assessed to see if that was the source of the issue. They found that Primary Home Improvements offered free in-home estimates and was the local insulation expert in their area. They were quickly set up with a free appointment.

The energy consultant arrived to the estimate and climbed up into the attic. What he found was old, flattened rolled fiberglass that was not providing a high enough R-Value to resist air infiltration. The customer did not want the old insulation to be removed so the energy consultant explained that cellulose could be blown on top of it. As long as the insulation was not wet, it is okay to add new insulation onto the old. The customer loved this solution and was signed up for a project date!

On the day of the install, the attic crew began working. They used a high-powered machine to blow the cellulose all over the attic floor at a consistent R-Value. Tru-Soft cellulose does not attract mold or pests and gives a superior R-Value per inch. This customer now does not have to worry about fluctuating temperatures in their home!

Crawl Space and Walls Insulated in Lakewood, OH

A homeowner in Lakewood, OH was complaining about cold walls and floors that were making it uncomfortable to live in. She wanted to find the source of the drafts entering her home and fix them without the mess of a remodel. She found that Primary Home Improvements offers no-obligation estimates and was quickly scheduled with an in-home inspection.

Bert, the energy consultant, arrived to the home and began assessing the source of air leakage. He discovered that the crawl space of this home had gaps and cracks that were letting unwanted outside air in. Additionally, using his thermal gun, he found the walls of the home were not adequately insulated. He sat down with the customer and explained that the solution would be to insulate the rim joists of the crawl space and inject RetroFoam into the walls of the home. She was then set up with an install date to get the work done!

On the day of the install, the insulation crew started with the walls. They began by taking one piece of vinyl siding off around the home. This allowed them to then drill holes between the studs and inject RetroFoam in the cavities. RetroFoam comes out like shaving cream, this enables it to fill every gap in the wall. This patented product then hardens after 48 hours and provides a draft-proof protection. When done, installers made sure to plug each hole and put the siding back on as it was. They finished by cleaning the work area and then got started in the crawl space. In order to insulate the crawl space, the crew used RimTight foam. RimTight is made specifically for rim joists and will seal and insulate simultaneously. Rim joists and walls are a large culprit of energy loss so RimTight and RetroFoam installation will create a more comfortable home while also saving this customer on utility bills.

Cellulose Added to Attic in Westlake, OH

A homeowner in Westlake, OH recently had a new roof installed and was in desperate need of new attic insulation. Roof installation can reveal a lot about the current insulation or even degrade it in some cases. This customer needed to find a high-quality product to insulate their home for good. They found that Primary Home Improvements was their local expert and provided free in-home estimates.

Kevin, the energy consultant, arrived for the free estimate and climbed up into the attic to see what was going on. He found that most of the attic floor was just plywood with no insulation. This caused a lot of drafts and unwanted heat flow. Kevin advised that Primary Home Improvements carries Tru-Soft, which is a cellulose product that has a superior R-Value per inch. The customer was so excited for the upcoming install.

On the day of the install, the attic crew arrived and began by blowing-in the cellulose at R-49 level across the entire attic. This attic in particular had knee walls and odd spaces so the installers made sure to also put cellulose there as well. To finish, they laid plywood along the necessary areas so that if the homeowner needed to access the attic, they could do so without falling through the ceiling. The homeowner loved the 1-day installation and can now enjoy a well-insulated home.

Attic Restored in Brecksville, OH

A homeowner in Brecksville, OH noticed their home was not keeping heat well. They climbed up into their attic and noticed degraded rolled insulation and mold on the rafters. He knew he needed professional help to resolve these issues. He found that Primary Home Improvements was his local insulation expert and was scheduled for a free estimate.

The energy consultant observed and confirmed the same issues and explained how Primary Home Improvements could help. By using our patented and proven cellulose and mold mitigation products, this attic could return to being functional again. The customer was looking forward to having the work done soon.

On the day of the project, the installers began by extracting all of the rotted pink insulation. By getting rid of the moisture-ridden, flattened insulation, the installers could have a blank canvas to blow in dense cellulose. Once the extraction was finished, the crew blew in Tru-Soft cellulose. Tru-Soft is an environmentally friendly, mold resistant cellulose product that provides a superior R-Value per inch. Once cellulose was installed, the crew sprayed Mold-X cleaner and Mold X-2 Botanical. Mold-X cleaner gets rid of mold stains in just 20 seconds! As an added layer of protection Mold X-2 Botanical deodorizes and prevents further mold growth. This home's attic can now insulate the home properly which will save the homeowner a headache and some cash!

Whole Home Insulated in Seven Hills, OH

A homeowner in Seven Hills, OH was experiencing high heating and cooling bills as well as polarizing temperatures in different rooms. They didn't know the exact source of the problem, but wanted a permanent fix to these troublesome problems. They figured most of the problem was from insulation, so they began researching local experts in their area. They found that Primary Home Improvements was their local, family-owned insulation expert and spoke with our Customer Care rep about scheduling a free estimate.

Once scheduled, the energy consultant, Kevin, arrived promptly to audit the home's energy. He found that all exterior walls, one interior wall, the garage walls and attic were insufficiently insulated. To get to this conclusion, Kevin used a thermal gun that gauges where air loss is happening. He also made sure to climb all the way into the attic to measure how much R-Value was up there. He measured R-30, which is not horrible, but he recommended that we bring it up to R-49 to make it even more efficient. Having a high R-Value in the attic is vital in stopping drafts and unwanted heat flow from entering the home. Kevin made sure to sit down with the customer and explain what he saw and all the solutions that Primary Home Improvements could offer. The customer was so excited to get the project done soon!

On the day of install, the wall and attic crews arrived to insulate the entire home. The wall crew began by insulating the exterior walls of the home. The siding was brick, but that was no problem for our team! RetroFoam injection foam insulation can be installed with any type of siding. Using a specialized tool, the installers injected RetroFoam in between the mortar and into the wall cavities. Once done filling the entirety of the space, they re-mortared to seal it off. They then worked on the interior walls. This included one wall in the home and the garage walls. They drilled small holes in the drywall and injected RetroFoam into the empty walls. They then sealed the holes. Once hardened, RetroFoam provides an air-tight seal that will never settle in the walls- No demolition needed!

While the wall crew was at work, the attic crew was working to insulate the attic. They used Tru-Soft cellulose to create a functional and fully insulated attic space. Tru-Soft is more dense than fiberglass and is mold resistant. Once both teams filled the attic with R-49 cellulose and the walls with RetroFoam, they showed the customer the finished product. The homeowner was completely shocked at how easy, non-invasive and quick the whole home insulation was done. Now they can enjoy an energy-efficient and comfortable home!
