What is RetroFoam and How Does it Work?
Here at Primary Home Improvements, we offer RetroFoam Wall Insulation. RetroFoam is an injection material that is commonly installed from the outside of the home and can even be done from the inside depending on the situation. The purpose of the foam is to create an air seal that will do its job by stopping any movement of air, keeping valuable air inside and unwanted air outside.

What is RetroFoam?
- RetroFoam is made up of a tripolymer based resin formula that is then added to water and a foaming agent to create an injection-ready material.
- The formula is considered to be class 1 fire-rated and will not contribute to any fires, due to its low flame spreading rate as well as a high safety level.
- Adding RetroFoam to your home’s walls means no more condensation, mold or mildew growth allowing for a healthy home for you and your family.
- This insulation consists of properties that will reduce sound in your home by absorbing sound waves, decreasing noises that come from the exterior.
- The R-value is 30% higher than your traditional insulation, creating an energy efficient, comfortable home.

What is the installation process?
- The siding is removed from the home where we plan to install the RetroFoam Insulation.
- The installer will drill holes into the cavities of the wall, creating access areas for the foam.
- The RetroFoam material is then injected into each of the cavities, ensuring each one is completely full.
- The holes are then closed with a plug, and the siding is reinstalled, leaving the home looking just the same as we found it!
