Ice dams on the roof caused this homeowner concern. She called us to see if we could help. An energy audit revealed that her attic was under insulated and the cause of a lot of heat escaping. We removed all of the old insulation, air sealed the attic plane, and blew in TruSoft Cellulose Insulation.

Old Insulation
The old insulation in this attic needed to go. It was allowing a lot of heat to transfer out of the attic, and as a result ice dams were forming on the roof.
Air Sealed
We got all of the old insulation out of the attic. Then we air sealed all of the cracks and gaps in the attic plane. This prevents conditioned air from flowing out of those cracks.
Dense Cellulose
Then we installed TruSoft Cellulose, achieving an R60! This dense blanket of insulation now covers the entire attic.
