Across Northeast Ohio, a winter warm-up can happen quickly. When snow and ice melt, the water has to go somewhere, and without proper insulation, it can cause problems inside the home.

Many experienced ice dams and icicles during the freeze, which is a sign of under-insulation in the attic. Once these huge chunks of ice melt, it can overwhelm the gutters and start to leak elsewhere. Proper insulation will help maintain a consistent roof temperature, reducing the risk of ice dams and icicles.

Before the thaw ends, consider if your home needs proper insulation in the walls or attic. A little preparation during a thaw can prevent costly damage later. We offer FREE in-home estimates. Call us today!

Protect your home from damage caused by ice dams by insulating it!

With Northeast Ohio buried in snow and locked into an arctic blast, many homeowners are starting to notice something alarming along their rooflines- large icicles on the gutters and thick ice dams on the roof. While they may look like a normal sign of the winter season, these ice buildups are often a warning sign of a deeper problem inside of your home.

Why Ice Dams Form

Ice dams develop when heat escapes from your home into the attic, warming the roof and melting snow. As the melting ice runs down to the colder edges of the roof, it refreezes, creating a ridge of ice. Over time, thawing snow gets trapped behind the ice and can force water underneath shingles and into the home.

Icicles are often a byproduct of ice dams caused by uneven roof temperatures due to heat loss.

The Insulation Connection

In many Northeast Ohio homes, especially the older ones, insulation is either lacking or improperly installed.

Poor attic insulation can lead to:

Ice dams

Water leaks

Mold problems

Higher heating bills

How Insulation Helps

Here at Primary Home Improvements, we focus on whole-home insulation solutions that stop heat loss at the source. By properly insulating attics, knee walls, and air sealing gaps and cracks, we can help keep temperatures more controlled.

A well-insulated home means:

Less heat escaping into the attic

Fewer ice dams and icicles

Better indoor air quality and comfort

Sadly, the worst weather makes insulation problems easiest to see. If thick icicles or ice dams keep forming on your roof after every snowfall, your home is giving you a clear signal for help. We offer FREE in-home estimates to come up with the right insulation solutions for your home. Call our office today!

Insulation plays a huge role in how your home performs year-round.

If you've thought to yourself lately "my energy bills seem to be rising" or "these rooms are not the same temperature as the rest of the home," it might be time to consider home insulation.

The purpose of home insulation is the slow the transfer of heat. In the winter, it helps to keep warm air inside and block outdoor heat in the summer. When insulation is flattened, old, moldy or damaged, your HVAC systems overcompensate to maintain a comfortable temperature. This leads to higher heating and cooling bills as well as wear and tear on the system.

Beyond comfort and energy savings, a fully insulated home can improve indoor air quality. By sealing gaps, cracks and reducing air infiltration, insulation can keep dust, pollen and mold at bay. It can even help dampen outside sounds!

If your home feels uncomfortable or your utility bills keep rising, insulation may be the missing piece. We have professional energy consultants, installers and products that will make an important impact on your home.

When insulation is done right, it's an investment that pays off every day.

On the day of the project, the attic crew arrived. They began by taking out the pink, rolled fiberglass by hand. This type of insulation is common in attics but ironically does not create an efficient space. Extraction is an important step before re-insulating because it get's rid of unhealthy, moldy, dirty and old insulation. After extraction, the mold stains were taken care of using Mold-X. This product not only gets rid of the stain in 60 seconds, but the Mold-X Botanical works to kill the mold and future growth. Next, a TiteShell Recessed Light Fixture Cover was installed over can lights and sealed with polyurethane foam around the edge. Recessed can lights cause energy loss because the cavities they create cause air to escape. To further prevent drafts, we also air sealed the entire attic floor and installed our David Lewis pull down stair hatch cover. While air sealing guarantees that cracks and gaps are closed off with foam, the hatch cover will stop air infiltration from the pull down stairs. The David Lewis cover is made with 4" SilverGlo rigid foam board insulation but is light enough to be moved to the side so that the homeowner can access the space. Once the attic was air sealed, the re-insulation began. Our expert crew used a specialized blower machine to feed TruSoft cellulose into. This machine was tied to a long hose running up into the attic. TruSoft is a densely packed product that provides high insulating power to every inch it covers. Our team made sure to blow TruSoft at an R-49 level. Unlike other cellulose products, TruSoft will not settle over time and will reject mold growth. The homeowner couldn't believe the complete transformation of her attic and couldn't wait to reap the benefits!

This homeowner located in Newbury, OH had lived in her home for a few decades. Recently in the past couple of years, she was becoming more uncomfortable in her own home. In the summer the inside would be very humid and hot, while the winter would be frigid. She was sick of overusing her HVAC system and paying high utility bills. On top of this, her indoor air quality was poor due to mold growing in the attic. She found that Primary Home Improvements could offer her an array of solutions during a free estimate and scheduled one. The energy consultant confirmed that her attic was under-insulated, showed her the pictures and measurements of the area and then explained how we could fix each problem. She couldn't wait to get it all done.

Before winter truly arrives, it's the perfect time for a quick "energy check" to make sure your home is ready!

As the holiday season approaches quickly and families gather together, it's important to make sure utility bills are monitored and comfortability in your home is met.

At Primary Home Improvements, we're all about helping homeowners stay cozy and warm while keeping energy costs controlled. Here's a simple guide to help prep or assess your home for cold weather, just in time for Thanksgiving.

1. Check your Attic Insulation

Up to 45% of your home's energy can be lost through a poorly insulated attic space. This can put strains on your furnace, which in turn, increases bills and decreases the life of a system.

Quick check:

- If insulation looks thin, flattened or uneven, drafts could be getting in.

- Old insulation settles overtime so assess if it's been long enough to re-insulate or not.

2. Seal Up Drafty Areas

Air can come in through windows, doors and the attic which can cause unnecessary heat loss.

Try this Thanksgiving trick:

Stand by doors and windows during a windy day to see if you feel breezes coming through.

Weatherstripping and caulking can help around doors and windows.

Primary Home Improvements offers professional attic air sealing to ensure this large space doesn't contribute to air infiltration.

3. Complete a Simple Furnace Prep

A heating system that works twice as hard uses twice the energy.

Before Thanksgiving try these easy steps:

- Change the filter

- Ensure vents are open and not obstructed

- Consider cleaning or servicing if it's been awhile

We know that the holiday season can be very busy and overwhelming. We're here to help! If you're not sure if you have an under-insulated home, we can check for you during one of our free, in-home estimates. Give our office a call today!

Happy Holiday season from all of us here at PHI!!

Our install crews had a great day learning, collaborating and grubbing together!

At Primary Home Improvements, we believe the best foundation for great work starts with great people. Our recent training and morale day was all about sharpening our skills, getting to know each other more and celebrating what makes PHI so unique.

The day kicked off with a deep dive into company history. Mary and Mike started this business from the ground up in 2021 with only a couple of other people. Mary shared pictures from the beginning, middle and most recent days of the company to showcase how far the entire team has taken the business. Being that there were new crew members at this presentation, it was enlightening to see how far we've come and how our integrity and craftsmanship have carried us.

Our marketing coordinator then stepped in for a short presentation of how to take the best before and after pictures at the jobsite. These pictures from real homes are uploaded onto our website for the purpose of showing new customers our reliability and reputability. It's vital for the install crews to take clean, bright and quality pictures for potential customers.

And because competition keeps things fun, we wrapped up the training day with a contest to see whose truck was the cleanest. Each "judge" went around and checked the cab and back of the vehicles to see who had the best organization and cleanliness. Other teams got to learn tips and tricks on how to best keep their trucks cleaned and neat!

Finally, the entire team sat together to enjoy a meal together. Mike smoked ribs and chicken with some yummy sides included. We got to share stories about work and our lives with those who we work with everyday.

This day reminded us that investing in our people is important and will help the teams to serve our customers the best way we can!

On the day of the project, the team arrived and began by building an insulation wall. This allowed for walking room or storage in the attic without ruining the blown-in cellulose. Once that was put up, the team started installing TruSoft cellulose around the perimeter of the attic floor. TruSoft is a densely packed cellulose that is not only eco-friendly in material, but will also reject mold growth. The crew made sure to cover the attic with R-49, which is high enough to keep outside air away!

Insulation had been low on the priority list for this homeowner in Euclid, OH. After owning and living in the home for a couple of decades, she decided enough was enough. Her energy bills were getting higher every year and she was very cold during the winter months.

An energy consultant met with her during a free estimate and found that there was zero insulation in her attic. When this home was first built at least 50 years ago, the attic was used for livable space. Now, it just sat empty and let a lot of drafts into the home. The consultant sat down with the customer and explained that we could fix this issue in one, easy installation day. She was so ready to have a fully insulated attic.

We solved these big attic issues for the customer by blowing TruSoft cellulose at an R-49 level. High R-Level is vital to have in an attic because it's the measurement of how effective an insulation product is at blocking air infiltration. TruSoft cellulose is densely packed so it has a superior protection per inch. Our installers used a specialized blower machine to insulate the attic floor and made sure that TruSoft was evenly placed. The best thing about our patented cellulose is that it is fire and mold resistant for even more defense. In only one installation day, this homeowner was left with a healthier, more functional and energy-efficient attic!

A homeowner located in East Canton, OH was doing a yearly check on his home. One these routine assessments was the attic and when he climbed into his, it was worrisome. He noticed that the current insulation was very flattened and had been effected my moisture. He researched the internet for a local insulation expert and found that we could provide a no-obligation, written, free quote. He called into our Customer Care Representative and was quickly scheduled with an estimate.

The energy consultant met with the homeowner and went up into the attic. He took pictures, R-Value measurements and square footage. He sat with the homeowner and confirmed the lack of high quality insulation. Settled, degraded insulation was causing increased energy bills and discomfort for the family.

As fall turns quickly to winter, insulation becomes one of your home's biggest defenses against air infiltration and high energy bills. Unfortunately, there are a lot of misconceptions about insulation that prevent many homeowners from feeling the full benefit of a protected, insulated home.

Let's bust a few of the biggest myths:

Myth 1: Only Old Homes Need Insulation

The Truth: As many new homeowners are finding out, old homes are not the only ones that desperately need insulation. New construction has been notorious for under-insulating or using low-quality products that settle over time. Additionally, even if your home is not a new construction or older, traditional insulation products flatten over time. If you've never checked the current status of insulation or it's been years, let us check the walls and attic for you during one of our free in-home estimates.

Myth 2: Adding Insulation is Expensive

The Truth: Insulating your home can pay for itself over time. On average, 15% can be saved on heating and cooling bills just by insulating. Currently, there is also a tax credit that can give homeowners up to $1,200 back with the energy efficient home improvement credit. This credit is being cut short and will be ending December 2025. Click here to find out more about how you can get in on the tax credit savings.

Primary Home Improvements offers competitive pricing, finance programs and discounts on our insulation products and services. Call us today to find out more!

Myth 3: All Insulation is the Same

The Truth: Products and materials vary when it comes to insulation. Spray foam, cellulose, injection foam and fiberglass are used for different types of scenarios. Our expert energy consultants can help explain these insulation products as well as their individual purposes. Primary Home Improvements also offers high-quality, patented and proven insulation products that will outlast traditional brands. Choosing a reliable company and insulation brand makes the difference!

Myth 4: HVAC Will Make Up For the Lack of Insulation

The Truth: Even the best or newer HVAC system cannot beat the drafts that enter your home. In fact, a lack of insulation will over-work your system and cause the life of the product to fail sooner than it should. This will also cause your energy bills to keep increasing month after month.

Don't let these insulation myths leave you cold this upcoming season. We offer free in-home estimates that are no-obligation, so that you can gauge where your home is at and how to move forward. Call Primary Home Improvements today!

Whether you're dealing with high energy bills, an uncomfortable home or just want peace of mind, our free inspections can provide answers and a clear plan for improvement.

Here's what to expect during the free inspection:

1. Home Walkthrough

The free estimate begins with a home walkthrough with the energy consultant. This can look like a whole home walkthrough or just a certain room or the attic space. Your energy consultant will ask you questions about how long you've lived in the home, how old the home is and any concerns you've had about uneven temperatures, drafts or high utility bills. Pictures will be taken throughout this process so that the consultant can show you the current state of insulation. A complete walkthrough helps them understand where to focus the quote and come up with the best solutions for the customer!

2. Attic and Crawl Space Check

These specific spaces need more investigating because a large amount of energy loss can happen. The energy consultant will specifically check the attic and crawl space for:

Thickness and condition

Gaps or voids where insulation is missing

High humidity or mold growth

Signs of pests or rodents

3. Wall Insulation Assessment

The energy consultant will check your walls for insulation in a couple different ways. An optional way to check insulation in the wall is for the consultant to take a small piece of siding off, drill a 1" hole and physically check the wall for insulation. They will make sure the hole is sealed and the siding is put on as before. The other way to check for wall insulation is by using a thermal imaging gun. This technology shows where heat loss happens in each wall by portraying different colors. The consultant will make sure to show you how this works and what results your home has.

4. Detailed, Written Quote

Once the inspection is complete, the energy consultant will sit down with you and share the detailed quote. This includes:

Where insulation is needed

Recommended R-Values (insulation thickness)

Suggestions for air sealing or mold removal

A pinpointed quote with a dollar amount

Primary Home Improvements offers FREE in-home estimates that are no-obligation or pressure. These estimates give homeowners a clear picture of where their home stands and how to make informed decisions for a plan going forward. If you're unsure about the state of your insulation or don't know where to start, give our office a call. We'd be happy to set you up for our free in-home estimate!

On the day of the install, the installers started by extracting the old insulation and cleaning debris. This created a clean slate to work with. Once extracted, they used a specialized blower machine to feed the TruSoft through. TruSoft is a blown-in insulation that is mold, fire and rodent resistant. Additionally, it has a superior R-Value per inch. The attic crew made sure to evenly spread the insulation across the attic floor at an R-49 level. High R-Value is important in an attic in order to stop drafts at the source. If an insulation material is not high quality, it will not resist unwanted heat flow. Luckily, TruSoft is the best cellulose on the market and will protect the home from air infiltration! The customer was so happy and impressed that his attic was fully insulated in just a day!

A homeowner located in Broadview Heights, OH knew their 30 year old home needed assessed for insulation. Their goal was to increase the existing, orignal fiberglass. They had both rolled and blown-in fiberglass that had settled over time. They found that Primary Home Improvements offered free, detailed and written estimates and scheduled an appointment. The energy consultant, Kevin, climbed into the attic to asses the state of it. He found that rolled insulation was just sitting untouched in the middle of the attic, while the original blown in insulation was degraded on the floor. This unhealthy combination caused drafts to filter into the attic and ultimately into the rest of the home. Kevin sat down with the customer, showed them pictures of inside their attic and explained the written quote. He advised that adding fiberglass on top of old fiberglass was not the most energy-efficient method. Instead, he recommended that TruSoft cellulose replace the old fiberglass to create a densely packed, high R-Value attic. The homeowner was so excited to get the work done.

On the day of the install, the wall crew arrived and started by taking a piece of vinyl siding off around the home. This step allows installers to access the wall cavities, without taking all of the siding off or demolishing any walls. Next, the crew drilled small holes between studs and began injecting RetroFoam insulation into the exterior walls. RetroFoam is a tripolymer resin that comes out in a shaving-cream like form and hardens in the wall. This allows the insulation to completely fill the walls and not allow for cracks or gaps. RetroFoam also does not settle over time and prevents drafts from getting through. Once this high R-Value insulation was injected, the installers plugged the holes and put the siding back on carefully. They cleaned the jobsite and performed a walkthrough with the customers to finish off the project. The customer's were so excited to feel the difference that injection foam will make on their home and bills!

On the day of the install, the wall crew arrived and began working to insulate the home. They started by taking a couple rows of vinyl siding off around the home in order to access the wall cavities. The best part of RetroFoam is that it works with any type of siding and is non-invasive, while also providing a superior R-Value per inch. Once a portion of the siding was off, small holes were drilled between studs and RetroFoam was injected into the wall. RetroFoam is a tripolymer resin that comes out like shaving cream, but hardens in the wall after 48 hours. Once installers fill every nook and cranny of the wall, they sealed it with a plug and put the siding back on as before. You couldn't even tell we were there!

On the day of the install, the wall and attic crew arrived to the church and began working. The attic crew began by prepping the attic space by installing baffles. Baffles are important in an attic space because it redirect air flow away from the home. Once done with this step, they worked on blowing in Tru-Soft cellulose insulation. Tru-Soft cellulose is a dense, mold-resistant product that resists heat flow through it. Resisting unwanted heat flow is important to retaining the best R-Value possible. Drafts and outside air will now have a difficult time getting through.

The wall crew started their work by drilling small holes along only a few sections of the aluminum siding. They made sure they can access each wall cavity and insulate under and above the windows. Once drilled, the installers began injecting RetroFoam insulation into the walls. RetroFoam is a tripolymer resin that comes out like shaving cream and hardens after 48 hours. Once hardened, RetroFoam provides a draft-resistant, high R-Value solution without the mess of a remodel. After the wall crew was finished injecting, they sealed the holes and all that is left to do is re-paint parts of the siding! RetroFoam is a great product for existing walls and will never settle!

On the day of install, the attic crew arrived and began by cleaning the old insulation and debris from the crawl space. They created a blank canvas, so to speak, in order to insulate the area properly. Once done clearing the attic, the installers securely attached the batten insulation the walls. Batt insulation is a great solution for odd, small spaces like this because it offers enough R-Value to reduce heat transfer, stop drafts and even dampen sound between walls! The installers performed a final walkthrough of the work done and the homeowner was so thrilled that this crawl space was finally insulated and could be used for storage!

The project day arrived and the crew got started on insulating the walls of this home. The process begins by the crew taking off sections of the siding around the home, so they can access the wall cavities. Only a few sections need taken off, instead of all of them. After this, they drill small 2 inch holes between the studs to ensure the product can fill the whole space. In addition, they also drilled these holes into the drywall of the garage in order to insulate this space for the customer as well. They then take the freshly made RetroFoam insulation, using specialized equipment, and inject the foam into the holes. The foreman makes sure that each cavity is full to the point of overfilling and makes sure the clean the extra off the job site. RetroFoam is a tripolymer resin that comes out like shaving cream in order to fill every nook and cranny of the walls, but once hardened after about 48 hours, this product leaves an air-tight seal. Once done injecting, the wall crew seal the holes with Styrofoam plugs and places the vinyl siding back on carefully. What's great about RetroFoam is the fact that this product will never settle in the walls, like traditional types of wall insulation. The homeowner was so excited to now have a healthier, insulated home!

After doing some research, he found that Primary Home Improvements was the only local, insulation company that carried RetroFoam injection foam insulation. He sat down with the customer and explained exactly how RetroFoam works and that his house was a great candidate for the product. The homeowner was so excited to get the work done soon.

This included explaining the process again and exactly what they planned to do. The installers then began extracting all the trash and old insulation. Air-sealing is an important step before re-insulating because it's an added layer of protection against drafts. The final step was then to blow-in Tru-Soft cellulose at a high R-Value across this very large attic floor. This attic was a whopping 29,484 Bd. Ft. The attic crew crushed this big project and fully insulated every inch with the best product on the market. This full attic service truly transformed this homeowner's attic and experience for the better.

They were relieved to have an insulated, comfortable home again.

This room was directly below the attic space, so they wanted a professional opinion on how to fix this issue for good. They found that Primary Home Improvements was their local insulation expert and called into our Customer Care Representative. They quickly scheduled this customer with a free in-home estimate to receive a thorough, written assessment.

Bert, the energy consultant, arrived to the free estimate and climbed up into the attic to see first hand what the state was like. He noticed that the entire floor of the attic was covered sparsely with rolled, pink insulation. Although a great DIY project, this type of insulation will not hold up over time and protect the home from air infiltration. Bert sat down with the customer and showed them the pictures he took. He also explained his very detailed, written estimate and advised the homeowner to extract, air seal, and re-insulate the attic to create a warmer home. Once explained and all questions answered, Bert provided a project date to get the work done. The customer was looking forward to fixing this annoying issue soon!

On the day of the install, the wall and attic crews both arrived to begin insulating this entire home. The wall crew began by taking off a piece of siding around the home in order to access the wall cavities in between the studs. Then, they drilled small holes so that they could pump RetroFoam injection foam inside the empty walls. RetroFoam is a tripolymer resin that fills existing walls with the best R-Value. There is no need to tear the walls down to the studs and the siding is put back up so you can't even tell the crew was there. Once hardened in the wall, RetroFoam will never settle and deters any drafts from entering the home.

While the wall crew was working, the attic crew was working on adding R-30 value to the space. To do this, they used Tru-Soft blown in cellulose and a high-powered machine to densely pack the insulation along the attic floor. Tru-Soft is mold and draft resistant.

Now having a fully insulated walls and attic, this customer can enjoy a comfortable and energy-effecient home!

A homeowner in Marshallville, OH was having troubles living comfortably in his 1900's farmhouse. Seeing that the house was 100 years old, he knew that the walls and attic were either empty or close to it. He wanted a local company to come out and give expert advise to fix the problem for good. The customer found that Primary Home Improvements was his local insulation expert. He spoke to the Customer Care Representative and was quickly scheduled for a free in-home estimate.

Matt, the energy consultant, met with the homeowner and began to analyze the state of insulation in the home. Using a thermal imaging gun, he noticed the walls had absolutely no insulation in them. Additionally, there were huge gaps that were allowing drafts in from the outside. After climbing into the attic, Matt noticed very little insulation that was almost as old as the home. He measured about R-19 on the attic floor. R-19 is not high enough insulating power to protect this 890 square foot attic. Matt sat down with the customer and explained how RetroFoam in the wall and Tru-Soft in the attic would transform his home for the better. The customer was so excited to get this project done soon.

On the day of the install, the attic crew arrived to give the customer an initial walkthrough of their process. They then began to insulate the 1,860 square foot attic with Tru-Soft cellulose. Tru-Soft is mold and pest-resistant while also maintaining a densely packed end result that won't settle. The attic crew made sure to loose-blow the cellulose across the entire attic floor at an even level. Once done, they performed a final walkthrough with the homeowner and the customer was shocked at the difference! They were ecstatic to have a fully insulated attic that would work to create an energy-efficient, comfortable home.

Bert, the energy consultant, arrived to the home and spoke to the customer about their concerns. He then climbed up into the attic to inspect it thoroughly. He noticed this large attic space had very low R-Value. R-Value is important in resisting unwanted heat flow. The lower the R-Value, the more drafts. Bert advised the homeowner that insulating the attic with high-quality cellulose would fix this large issue. The customer was so excited to finally get this problem fixed.

On the day of the project, the attic crew arrived and began working to insulate the attic. They made sure to blow R-49 across the entire attic, including in the knee walls. Knee walls are a common source of air infiltration, so it was important to insulate them. A high R-Value, such as R-49, is important to resisting heat flow between the insulating material. High R-Value is a literal layer of protection between the outside air and the home. Once installers were finished blowing in Tru-Soft, they made sure to do a final walkthrough with the customer and show them the attic. The customer was happily shocked at the difference from the before and after of their attic space. Now, winter cold doesn't stand a chance against their home!

This homeowner located in Twinsburg, OH was dealing with annoying and unsafe icicles and ice dams on their roof. Both icicles and ice dams are winter time problems that occur if there is a lack of attic insulation. Icicles form when melted snow drips down and freezes from the roof. Ice dams form on the edge of the roof, preventing correct water drainage. Both of these issues can cause damage to the home and potentially hurt a person walking below the icicles. The homeowner knew they needed a professional to assess why exactly these were forming. She found that Primary Home Improvements was her local insulation expert and was scheduled with a free in-home estimate!

Bert, the energy consultant, arrived to the free estimate and climbed into the attic to see if that was the source of the ice problem. He found that there was a mix of old, rolled insulation and rotted fiberglass. This combination was not insulating the attic properly. In fact, it was allowing drafts and moisture into the home. Bert advised that having Primary Home Improvements blow R-49 of Tru-Soft cellulose insulation would create a healthier, insulated home. The customer was looking forward to getting the work done.

On the day of the install, the attic crew arrived and began by extracting the aged insulation. They sucked out the insulation to create a blank canvas. Once the attic was cleaned, they started to blow in Tru-Soft Cellulose. Tru-Soft is a high R-Value, densely packed product that covers the entire attic floor. It is installed at a consistent R-49 so that outside air can't get through. Once done, the attic crew showed the customer the work and performed a final walkthrough.

On the day of the install, the attic crew arrived and ran through an initial walkthrough with the customer. This included re-explaining the process and product to be used. The installers then started to extract the old debris and rolled insulation. This not only cleaned the attic but created a blank canvas for brand new insulation to be installed. They then began blowing-in Tru-Soft cellulose at a consistent R-49 value. This high R-Value rate will withstand the earth's outside elements and protect the home in all seasons. Once done, the attic crew showed pictures of the final result to the customer and made sure a final walkthrough was performed.
