Christmas Party 2025

This past Saturday evening, the Primary Home Improvements team gathered to celebrate the holiday season and reflect on 2025. Despite an intense snow storm, dropping 6-8 inches of snow, many team members still made the trip and even brought a loved one to enjoy the evening together.

The night offered lots of yummy Italian food, homemade desserts and time connecting with coworkers and their family.

A special part of the party was making time to recognize members with well-deserved awards for their dedication and contributions throughout the year. These moments of credit reflect the hard work that help us deliver quality results for homeowners every day.

Complete Attic Service in Newbury, OH

On the day of the project, the attic crew arrived. They began by taking out the pink, rolled fiberglass by hand. This type of insulation is common in attics but ironically does not create an efficient space. Extraction is an important step before re-insulating because it get's rid of unhealthy, moldy, dirty and old insulation. After extraction, the mold stains were taken care of using Mold-X. This product not only gets rid of the stain in 60 seconds, but the Mold-X Botanical works to kill the mold and future growth. Next, a TiteShell Recessed Light Fixture Cover was installed over can lights and sealed with polyurethane foam around the edge. Recessed can lights cause energy loss because the cavities they create cause air to escape. To further prevent drafts, we also air sealed the entire attic floor and installed our David Lewis pull down stair hatch cover. While air sealing guarantees that cracks and gaps are closed off with foam, the hatch cover will stop air infiltration from the pull down stairs. The David Lewis cover is made with 4" SilverGlo rigid foam board insulation but is light enough to be moved to the side so that the homeowner can access the space. Once the attic was air sealed, the re-insulation began. Our expert crew used a specialized blower machine to feed TruSoft cellulose into. This machine was tied to a long hose running up into the attic. TruSoft is a densely packed product that provides high insulating power to every inch it covers. Our team made sure to blow TruSoft at an R-49 level. Unlike other cellulose products, TruSoft will not settle over time and will reject mold growth. The homeowner couldn't believe the complete transformation of her attic and couldn't wait to reap the benefits!

PHI Training and Morale Day

At Primary Home Improvements, we believe the best foundation for great work starts with great people. Our recent training and morale day was all about sharpening our skills, getting to know each other more and celebrating what makes PHI so unique.

The day kicked off with a deep dive into company history. Mary and Mike started this business from the ground up in 2021 with only a couple of other people. Mary shared pictures from the beginning, middle and most recent days of the company to showcase how far the entire team has taken the business. Being that there were new crew members at this presentation, it was enlightening to see how far we've come and how our integrity and craftsmanship have carried us.

Our marketing coordinator then stepped in for a short presentation of how to take the best before and after pictures at the jobsite. These pictures from real homes are uploaded onto our website for the purpose of showing new customers our reliability and reputability. It's vital for the install crews to take clean, bright and quality pictures for potential customers.

And because competition keeps things fun, we wrapped up the training day with a contest to see whose truck was the cleanest. Each "judge" went around and checked the cab and back of the vehicles to see who had the best organization and cleanliness. Other teams got to learn tips and tricks on how to best keep their trucks cleaned and neat!

Finally, the entire team sat together to enjoy a meal together. Mike smoked ribs and chicken with some yummy sides included. We got to share stories about work and our lives with those who we work with everyday.

This day reminded us that investing in our people is important and will help the teams to serve our customers the best way we can!

Cellulose Added to Old Home in Euclid, OH

Insulation had been low on the priority list for this homeowner in Euclid, OH. After owning and living in the home for a couple of decades, she decided enough was enough. Her energy bills were getting higher every year and she was very cold during the winter months.

New Cellulose Added to Old Insulation in East Canton, OH

2. Attic and Crawl Space Check

Attic Floor Insulated in Broadview Heights, OH

A homeowner located in Broadview Heights, OH knew their 30 year old home needed assessed for insulation. Their goal was to increase the existing, orignal fiberglass. They had both rolled and blown-in fiberglass that had settled over time. They found that Primary Home Improvements offered free, detailed and written estimates and scheduled an appointment. The energy consultant, Kevin, climbed into the attic to asses the state of it. He found that rolled insulation was just sitting untouched in the middle of the attic, while the original blown in insulation was degraded on the floor. This unhealthy combination caused drafts to filter into the attic and ultimately into the rest of the home. Kevin sat down with the customer, showed them pictures of inside their attic and explained the written quote. He advised that adding fiberglass on top of old fiberglass was not the most energy-efficient method. Instead, he recommended that TruSoft cellulose replace the old fiberglass to create a densely packed, high R-Value attic. The homeowner was so excited to get the work done.

RetroFoam Injected into Exterior Walls in Ashland, OH

On the day of the install, the wall crew arrived and started by taking a piece of vinyl siding off around the home. This step allows installers to access the wall cavities, without taking all of the siding off or demolishing any walls. Next, the crew drilled small holes between studs and began injecting RetroFoam insulation into the exterior walls. RetroFoam is a tripolymer resin that comes out in a shaving-cream like form and hardens in the wall. This allows the insulation to completely fill the walls and not allow for cracks or gaps. RetroFoam also does not settle over time and prevents drafts from getting through. Once this high R-Value insulation was injected, the installers plugged the holes and put the siding back on carefully. They cleaned the jobsite and performed a walkthrough with the customers to finish off the project. The customer's were so excited to feel the difference that injection foam will make on their home and bills!

Walls Insulated with RetroFoam in Sharon Center, OH

Walls and Attic of Church Insulated in Litchfield, OH

On the day of the install, the wall and attic crew arrived to the church and began working. The attic crew began by prepping the attic space by installing baffles. Baffles are important in an attic space because it redirect air flow away from the home. Once done with this step, they worked on blowing in Tru-Soft cellulose insulation. Tru-Soft cellulose is a dense, mold-resistant product that resists heat flow through it. Resisting unwanted heat flow is important to retaining the best R-Value possible. Drafts and outside air will now have a difficult time getting through.

The wall crew started their work by drilling small holes along only a few sections of the aluminum siding. They made sure they can access each wall cavity and insulate under and above the windows. Once drilled, the installers began injecting RetroFoam insulation into the walls. RetroFoam is a tripolymer resin that comes out like shaving cream and hardens after 48 hours. Once hardened, RetroFoam provides a draft-resistant, high R-Value solution without the mess of a remodel. After the wall crew was finished injecting, they sealed the holes and all that is left to do is re-paint parts of the siding! RetroFoam is a great product for existing walls and will never settle!

The church is now fully insulated and will be a comfortable space all year around!

Knee Walls of Above Ground Crawl Space Insulated in Berea, OH

This homeowner was noticing the upstairs was not regulating temperatures as it should. Their home had an above ground, attic crawl space that was awkward in shape, dirty and lacked insulation. On the day of the estimate, the energy consultant climbed into the crawl space to evaluate the state. He noticed there was some insulation, but it was sparsely laid and even strewn about on the floor. This was not conducive to a healthy, draft-resistant space. The energy consultant sat down with the customer and showed how we could insulate this odd space with batten insulation and also clean up the area so they could utilize it for storage. The customer was so excited to get the work done!

Garage and Exterior Walls Insulated in Oberlin, OH

The project day arrived and the crew got started on insulating the walls of this home. The process begins by the crew taking off sections of the siding around the home, so they can access the wall cavities. Only a few sections need taken off, instead of all of them. After this, they drill small 2 inch holes between the studs to ensure the product can fill the whole space. In addition, they also drilled these holes into the drywall of the garage in order to insulate this space for the customer as well. They then take the freshly made RetroFoam insulation, using specialized equipment, and inject the foam into the holes. The foreman makes sure that each cavity is full to the point of overfilling and makes sure the clean the extra off the job site. RetroFoam is a tripolymer resin that comes out like shaving cream in order to fill every nook and cranny of the walls, but once hardened after about 48 hours, this product leaves an air-tight seal. Once done injecting, the wall crew seal the holes with Styrofoam plugs and places the vinyl siding back on carefully. What's great about RetroFoam is the fact that this product will never settle in the walls, like traditional types of wall insulation. The homeowner was so excited to now have a healthier, insulated home!

Full Attic Service in Hiram, OH

This room was directly below the attic space, so they wanted a professional opinion on how to fix this issue for good. Bert, the energy consultant, arrived to the free estimate and climbed up into the attic to see first hand what the state was like. He noticed that the entire floor of the attic was covered sparsely with rolled, pink insulation. Although a great DIY project, this type of insulation will not hold up over time and protect the home from air infiltration. Bert sat down with the customer and showed them the pictures he took. He also explained his very detailed, written estimate and advised the homeowner to extract, air seal, and re-insulate the attic to create a warmer home. Old Farmhouse Fully Insulated in Marshallville, OH

Seeing that the house was 100 years old, he knew that the walls and attic were either empty or close to it. He wanted a local company to come out and give expert advise to fix the problem for good. The customer found that Primary Home Improvements was his local insulation expert. He spoke to the Customer Care Representative and was quickly scheduled for a free in-home estimate.

Matt, the energy consultant, met with the homeowner and began to analyze the state of insulation in the home. Using a thermal imaging gun, he noticed the walls had absolutely no insulation in them. Additionally, there were huge gaps that were allowing drafts in from the outside. After climbing into the attic, Matt noticed very little insulation that was almost as old as the home. He measured about R-19 on the attic floor. R-19 is not high enough insulating power to protect this 890 square foot attic. Matt sat down with the customer and explained how RetroFoam in the wall and Tru-Soft in the attic would transform his home for the better. The customer was so excited to get this project done soon.
